In the middle of the city centre? Isn't that way too crowded?

No, you won't notice that. A large part of the centre is now car-free. The front of Just Texel Suites & Apartments is on the historic street the Warmoesstraat, where I grew up. This street used to be the outer ring of Den Burg. Behind it, the vegetable gardens began, hence the name Warmoesstraat. A ha, fun fact!
Opposite Just Texel is a grain warehouse from 1870. I even remember the horse stable in there, right in the centre! You can hardly imagine that now, can you? Little of that can be seen nowadays, but the authentic atmosphere of the street has been preserved.
Most of the houses on this street have deep south-facing gardens. The view from the back is very different and has lots of greenery in particular. There is also the entrance to the spacious car park with 2 loading spaces and a bike shed with loading facilities. Wonderfully quiet, although we also have to mow the grass and trim the hedges once in a while.
So you walk straight from the front door onto the market square and are right at your breakfast address, the terraces, the shops and the bike rental. Or just stroll around Den Burg. It's all possible!
You can leave the car at home and explore the island by bike or go to the beach house, which is included in the rent from May to mid-September. With an electric bike, even wind force 6 won't stop you. Right?
Tips!
- Take a guided tour through the centre of Den Burg (every Wednesday morning) via VVV.
- Settle down on a terrace on the market square or at the Smulpot.
- Get a home-baked sandwich and home-brewed coffee at the Texel Branding on the square.
- Climb the church tower (opposite the Smulpot) on Mondays and in summer also on Wednesdays.
- Den Burg has many nice shops run by independent entrepreneurs.
- An ice-cold, energy boost at the Cryo Space. 3 Minutes in -150 degrees. Just Breathe. You too can do that!
